![]() | VERY SMALL POWDER |
| Before
~ This Queen Anne Bungalow had no powder room. ~ Everyone used the master bath, as it was the only bath on this level. ~ The door to the bathroom exposed the entire bathroom when open. Wish List ~ Privacy for the master bath. ~ Artistic presentation--i.e., something to distract the eye. The room will still be visible from the kitchen's dining area. ~ "We don't want it to feel like you walked into the coat closet." Solution & Gains ~ Landon recommended a simple solution: Access the master bath through their closet's back wall. This, in turn, allowed him to close off the former entry into the bath, and take a 10"-deep corner out of same (using thin-wall construction). ~ Therefore, we located the plumbing on the side. ~To visually expand this very small space (79" x 32" in the main section), bamboo flooring was used on the wall behind the wall-hung vanity. ~ The bamboo panels in the cabinet doors, continue the feeling of expansiveness. ~ Artistry and drama is obviously present with the Kraus Millenium faucet! ~ The copper, trough sink is a perfect companion--allowing plenty of runway for the water as it sweeps down into the basin. ~ Adding a clerestory window (see the elevation drawings below) brings light from the master bath into the powder room. |
